The second click is confirmation the user wishes to run something.

This is evidence that KDE devs either…

A. Don’t own cats.
B. Aggressively enforce their touchpad perimeter.
C. Just like watching the World burn.

Can I suggest all of the above?

This is all true. Though, I don’t like anyone’s defaults from anybody… so…

The person the made “single click open” a thing is obviously a monster. Double clicking worked fine for my grandparents and it’s just fine for me!!

LOL, actually my great-grandpa used a computer with double click just fine! Not saying that all change is bad. However, not all change is necessary or moves things forward. I’m very happy with double click.

This reminded me of teaching older folks how to double click in the 90’s. Nostalgic!

Me: Now, hold your mouse right there and double click.

Them: (click… [one, two, three] click.) It didn’t work.

Me: You weren’t fast enough. Do it real fast like: Clickclick

Them: (clickclick) IT WORKED!

I read this comment to my husband, after he asked while I was laughing. He agrees as well.
