Canon to stop making EF lenses

PetaPixel has reported https://petapixel.com/2020/01/08/canon-done-making-ef-lenses-unless-photographers-demand-more/ that Canon will no longer make EF lenses for its DSLRs. Canon will now concentrate on designing and building mirrorless lenses for its RF mount full time. This last happened in 1987 when Canon introduced the EF mount and sunsetted the FD mount.

Nikon has not made this level of commitment, but will likely follow suit.
